We unexpectedly lost Bowie to cancer last week.
Over the last 9 years, he became our loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, protector, and most patient big brother we could have asked for. Despite his stranger danger, he was a big, gentle softie with a long list of “chosen” people he loved. I’m grateful he got to say goodbye to some of those people in the short time we had.
Trev, Grace, and I are adjusting to life without his big voice, particular routines, and enthusiasm for almost everything. He may have ruined puppies for me, but he was truly the best dog. It’s still hard to believe he’s gone…we miss him so much.

Over the last year, I’ve been proud to act as a patient and family partner with the Canadian Donation & Transplantation Research Program, supporting a Canada-wide research initiative to improve the transplant patient and caregiver experience.

This year was a little tough, but we made it, and had a lot to celebrate - making it to our one year kidney anniversary, adopting sweet Grace, a new home, amazing trips, watching some of our fav people get married, and a few epic concerts! Look forward to a lot more celebrating in 2023 🥂
Our zoo is a little smaller tonight. I adopted Finn 11ish years ago as a buddy for Pierre, and they were instant besties. Although he made it his mission to terrorize the dogs in his life, he was a sweet and easygoing cat who insisted on holding hands, chasing socks, sitting on everything soft, and being part of the action. We’ll miss him a lot 💜
