Cookin’ up kitsch like it’s 1966. The cookbooks are STACKED and bursting with recipes—so many jiggly ideas, so little time. Which deliciously tacky ‘gelatin’ lamps will make the cut?
This SATURDAY at 12pm PST, a fresh batch of savory resin delights is sliding outta the fridge and onto the website.

hello people of the ‘gram! it’s been a LONG time since I’ve reintroduced myself on here and even longer since I’ve put myself in front of the photographers lense! Well, here we go! My name is Leanne “Elrod” Rodriguez and I’m a full-time, multi-disciplinary mixed media artist and designer currently based out of the Sacramento-area (recent transplant from the Bay Area of 17 years , born and raised in Riverside CA). I currently focus on resin sculptures that resemble your grandmas favorite church potluck jello recipes, amongst other vintage food inspired themes. I’m absolutely obsessed with Mid Century food and design and it’s gotten to the point where contemporary design just straight out appalls me.
My pet peeves include spelling my art name incorrectly (it’s not “El Rod”), galleries who take 60% commission (or more!!) and people who oppose the working class movement. I create the work I do because I want to emphasize the importance of the presence of whimsy in one’s life. Not all art has to be political to be radical, the mere act of being an artist and supporting people who make the art is its own form of rebellion and activism and I’m here for it. I’m also here to preserve nostalgia, create fantasy by giving permanence to objects that would normally have such a short life span (jellos and desserts) and to be honest, I just want to make beautiful objects to put on your walls and shelves that will remind you that the power to create the world you want to live in, burns inside of you. Don’t let the dystopian nightmare dull your sparkle- be a Jello-loving weirdo and keep your inner child fed with art that moves you.
I have not written an artists statement in a very long time 😅 and I’m sure I left out so much info but I’m more than happy to answer any questions you might have! Feel free to ask away!!
As always, thank you for looking, liking and sharing- One of the single greatest actions you can take today is by supporting an artist or small company, so thank you for taking the time to do it 💕 Love you all!!!

The first annual ITSC is officially one month away! I know I’ve been kind of quiet about this lately due to being absolutely (and gratefully) inundated with work but make no mistake, you’re about to hear a whole lot about the show and we’re about to go hard in the promo paint.
My goal with this show is to honor the table setting competition tradition while elevating it and bringing the art of table setting to a larger audience in a time when making tangible and meaningful connections with one another and making art is so crucial.
i’m going to go live this weekend to talk more candidly about the show and make myself available to anyone who has questions about the competition rules or run of show. if there’s anything I can do to help foster your interest in this art form. Please let me know because that really is what it’s all about. if you or somebody you know is considering entering the contest, please go to the link in my bio and read more about it and check out the application for entry.
Thank you so much to @npu.live and @arcthrift for helping me make this event possible!

✨Sunday 4/26 12pm PST✨ The season of the swizzle is upon us! Cheers! Inspired by my recent trips to Las Vegas and Reno, I made these little sculptures that capture the electric feeling I get when I’m on a casino floor. Do I gamble? No. Am I a sucker for the night life? Also no. But I spent most of my childhood summers in Vegas or State Line with my grandparents so I am always overtaken with nostalgia whenever I see the flashing lights and the technicolor drinks.
Adorned with vintage swizzle sticks from the 70s and beyond, this capsule collection is comprised of one of a kind cocktail sculptures and are meant to be admired and displayed in your art collection or home bar setup.
What cocktails/ mixed drinks do you recognize?? Call them out!

From the pages of the Joys of Jell-O ✨ nothing beats a classic flavor with a plop of cool whip on top. These resin sundae sculptures casted from vintage copper molds, are served in glass (hand thrifted by your truly) and available in strawberry/magenta, cherry/red, lemon/yellow, lime/green, blue raspberry/blue and orange/duh. 🍓🍊🍋🍏🫐🍒

“The Aspic Aquarium” lamp, inspired by the real deal recipe from Hellman’s Mayonnaise. Because everyone knows, the best aspics have a generous serving of mayo incorporated into it… or at least that’s what I’m told.
Bring a blue lagoon glow to your living room with this handmade one of a kind piece of functional art. Coming soon (this sunday) to a website (mine) near you (my bio) 🐠🍤🥬🐠🍤🥬🐠🍤🥬

Shop update- no orders have gone out the door FOR A WEEK now due to equipment issues (ALL of my printers stopped working). I got close to resolving the problem on my own a few times but never successfully fixed it so I ordered a new….which isn’t arriving until THIS MONDAY 😭 the moment it arrives, all pending orders will fly out the door. I would consider this a total disaster and I’m doing my best not to freak out so I thank my customers for their patience and understanding ✨
Hello my kitschy kittens! It’s been a minute since I’ve coiffed and combed my big-haired self! Luckily my friends at @backcombedmagazine asked me and @romy_baloney_ to partake in their very special pets edition called “Barkcombed”! Romy wouldn’t let me tease her bouffant so I had to catch her in her roller set instead. Stay tuned for the issue release, it’s going to be a fabulous mag ✨
While I have your attentions, here’s a few updates:
✨ My episode of @hellodysfunction is live on all platforms! Get in there and have a listen. Me and @lurkpatafria had the best time chatting our faces off for nearly 2.5 hours. I know I always say this, but it’s probably the best pod I’ve ever recorded.
✨The applications for The International Table Setting Show are open! Go check out the website and follow @intltablesettingcomp for updates
✨I’m busy packing orders from my Spring Collection, thank you all for your purchase 🩷 Pineapple Upside Down clocks will be ready at the end of this month.
