Since 1965, The Society of Publication Designers (@spdesigners ) has championed the future of visual storytelling within the publishing world. Over the last 20 years, Metaleap has completed 43 redesigns, and designed nearly 500 issues, spanning 23 titles, across 28,000 printed pages. Our work has won over 25 gold and silver awards at the Society of Publication Designers Awards including Best Redesign, Best of Genre, Best Cover and Magazine of the Year as well as awards and accolades at the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME), the City and Regional Magazine Awards (CRMA), the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), The Evangelical Press Association (EPA), Print Magazine, Cover Junkie and more.

We leave no rock unturned in our pursuit of creating beautifully engaging and bespoke coffee table books, consumer catalogs, national magazines and more that are worth a publisher’s investment. At last count, we have completed 45 magazine redesigns and over 500 individual issues across 24 different titles. As you must assume, we love publication design in all of its forms. Creating physical artifacts that endure long after they have been seen or read, artifacts that are experienced over and over and remain fresh and exciting with each interaction, is one of the highest creative challenges we face.

At Metaleap, Creativity and Relationships mean everything, and you can’t have one without the other, not really. We listen, we challenge, we push, we pull. We are relational over transactional. Long-term over short-term. Community over the individual. Real over easy. In-depth over shallow. We are intentional in all that we do. When we work together, you’ll feel it. We’ve witnessed agencies come and go selling trends and measurable achievements as proof of success. We’ll never do that because we know who we are. Our lodestone is our practice of investing in the hearts and minds of our clients, vendors, collaborators, and most importantly, our team. It’s not for everyone. It can get dicey. But we aren’t interested in preserving what’s come before. We’re interested in producing outstanding creative that accomplishes so much more. That doesn’t happen by chance. That’s us.

Our people are everything. Regardless of an agency's creative output, the experience of getting there is only as good as the process of working with the team. We’re daring, optimistic, courageous, and gritty. Relentlessly working to get better. Just like you. Not just for us, but for the world. We’ve got more than experience. Some call it determined courage. We call it pluck. You will certainly need the former in a great team, but the latter makes for a great journey.

There’s an old line in a David Whyte poem where he says, “You live best as an appreciator of horizons.” That’s what we love to do with our clients; we see the horizon together and then move towards it. A horizon stands at the furthest point of our vision; the edge between the old and the new; the transition from darkness to light. Over the last 20+ years, we have partnered with the most amazing clients to look at the horizon together–imagining what’s possible and then moving towards it with creativity and strategy. Our clients invite us to explore and reimagine together the things most important to them–the look and feel of their work, their products, and their ideas. We sit together, dream together, laugh together, and challenge each other. Together, we make the work more beautiful and more meaningful. It has been our greatest joy.
