Hi everyone. It’s another long one, so grab ya popcorn and settle in. I re-released In Dreams with an updated mix & master, and brand new album art done by @basentsyan.s . I’ve been wanting to do this for a while because I always felt like I never “finished” the album. This album is really special to me, so I’m finally giving it the release it deserves. I’ve always refrained from explaining the concept of In Dreams because I didn’t want to spoon-feed it to people. But the concept is a vital part of understanding and appreciating the album. So I’ve written a little description on Bandcamp, which helps build the world of In Dreams. The description comes from the exhibition, which was born out of this need to help listeners experience the album for what it is. I’ve now done the exhibition twice in Yerevan, and I’m bringing it to LA in March. You can get tickets for the exhibition through the link in my bio. The vinyl is 180 grams and comes with a 16-page booklet, and will be available in May. Shoutout to @jossijayne @mister_saladbar and @konbon who made this album what it is. A portrait session and many conversations with @mesrop___ . I recently had the opportunity to "catch" Mesrop before leaving Yerevan. Frankly, all our conversations before had been short and superficial, but I sensed this man was potentially interesting and I could discuss and learn a lot with him. And so it turned out. Shhau and Mesrop’s ‘Andset’, released on Scruniversal, is a brooding, cinematic slice of downtempo breakbeat that oozes atmosphere. The track creeps in like a scene from a noir detective film. Very eerie, dramatic and drenched in shadowy tension. A haunting melody creates the mood before a jazz-inflected piano hook adds unexpected warmth. As it unfolds, it transitions seamlessly into a more jazzy, expressive piece without losing its moody edge. A gripping and stylish listen no doubt. Design @dima___shiryaev
