Poetry Month Spotlight: This April, MESO is proud to celebrate Crystal Chanel, author of Daughter of the Diaspora a powerful debut poetry and short story collection centering the lived experiences of Black womanhood. Through expressive lyricism and honest storytelling, Daughter of the Diaspora explores identity, resilience, ancestral memory, and the dualities Black women navigate everyday visibility and invisibility, exhaustion and excellence, struggle and brilliance. The collection serves as both a mirror and a megaphone, reclaiming narratives too often silenced or dismissed. Crystal Chanel is a storyteller, emcee, and cultural curator whose work bridges purpose and power. She is also the founder and CEO of Press Release Marketing, LLC, amplifying brands through intentional strategy and bold storytelling. We are excited to share that Crystal Chanel will also be appearing at MESO’s 4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration this year!
