I was half asleep… you were already wide open w cigarette and window down while ill was freezing! 😂 I’d be daydreaming, you were working like a madman.
Construction is tough, and I watched it beat your body up daily to put food on the table for 5 kids and never heard you complain once! 🫡
I’ve never seen anyone outwork you. Still haven’t and I’m pretty sure lunch only existed because
I brought it up.
Back then, I thought life was hard.
Now I know you were making sure I was harder and building tough sons!
I wasn’t an easy kid.
Always in trouble. Always fighting.
Still didn’t start any of them. 🤣
But you gave me something most people never get grit, discipline, resilience, and a backbone the world can’t break.
God didn’t give me and smooth childhood.. He gave me you. and I’m grateful… because without that tough love, the world would’ve broken me.
I miss the hunts, the fishing, your cooking… but more than anything, I miss your voice.
I didn’t understand how much a boy needs his father until I didn’t have mine.

Last night Mason put in some work, got a bad kart in the main event but was still able to pull of 1st in qualifying and 1st in the main event!!! @jennypoohmerrell
My mini me!!!! Love his willingness to go on crazy adventures and that he loves everything I do, truly been a crutch to losing my Dad and not having him on the hunting and fishing trips. Time flies, he is getting big and his skills are really starting to show. Keep pushing Mason and the sky is the limit. @jennypoohmerrell
Man this one hurts!!! For the last 16 years this little dog has held a special place in my heart!!! I told my Wife we aren’t keeping that little rat, next thing you know she is my best friend, she grew up with Mercedes which was my other doggy, she grew up with all my kids and the girls adored her!!! They torchere her with love every day. She was 16 Years old and she passed quietly in her sleep. I love this dog and my Kids are heart broken!!! The house has been silent and we miss this puppy. Dogs are the best!!! She will be missed. @jennypoohmerrell
