I thought I experienced whale sharks the right way, turns out I didn’t. There’s a better way to see them. No feeding, no chasing and no guarantees. Just patience, respect, and letting nature lead. I was so grateful to experience this and I want you to show everyone how I experience this through my lens. Pintuyan showed me that the most meaningful encounters aren’t given, they’re earned. Help me get this video out to more people. Youtube link in bio. Shot on @sonyalpha a7iv inside a @seafrogs.com.hk casing.

A visual journal of my favorite moments so far, capturing life underwater. Three months in with the camera, and there’s still so much more to explore. Photographed using @sonyalpha a7iv, inside of a @seafrogs.com.hk casing.

𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐀 𝐌𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐢 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐡 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 - 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐬 | 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝟒 This is what it looked like beneath the surface. Not just the records, but everything it took to get there. The quiet focus before the dive. The weight of every inhale. The trust placed in a single moment. This year gave us more than numbers. World records, continental records, national records. It showed how far the depth scene is willing to go, and how much it continues to grow. Behind every performance is a team you don’t always see.Safeties in position. Judges watching every detail. Medics ready. Media team capturing the moments that we now can keep. Staff holding everything together, making sure each day runs the way it should. Our sponsors, making it all possible and standing behind every dive. A community built on trust, precision, and showing up for each other. To the athletes, for pushing limits, adapting to every condition, and carrying both pressure and passion into the deep. You made every dive mean something. And to everyone who showed up, old faces who’ve been part of this from the start, and new ones who already feel like they belong. This is what makes it special. This is more than competition. It’s a reflection of where the depth scene is right now and where it’s headed. Depth Quest isn’t just an event. It’s a moment in the story of depth. Until next season. This story now lives beyond us. Huge thanks to @merquezx and the rest of the media team for making this documentary possible. Most people break the rules, and the whale sharks pays for it. Stills from the short film. Really brought this from a thought in my head to life. Watch the short film pinned on my profile. Let’s keep promoting ethical tourism and continue calling out those who don’t. No marine life should suffer just for the sake of livelihood. Shot on @sonyalpha a7iv using 16-35mm GMII on a @seafrogs.com.hk casing.

Studies in environmental design suggest that cooler colors like blue can shape how we experience space, often making environments feel larger, quieter, and more distant. In film and visual storytelling, blue color grading is used to evoke introspection and solitude, creating a calm and reflective mood. Is this why we’re drawn to blue? Dari Laut was once a floating casino off the coast of Batangas, a place of lights, music, and high stakes at sea. Guests were ferried offshore to gamble beyond the mainland, turning the ocean into a stage for nightlife. After a reported fire, the vessel sank and was never salvaged. The cause remains unclear, leaving its final moments wrapped in speculation. Today, it rests near Tingloy, tilted along a reef slope and stripped to its metal framework. Corals and reef fish have reclaimed what was once a symbol of luxury. Would you dive a sunken casino? shot with @sonyalpha a7iv on @seafrogs.com.hk casing.

I’m Homer, new underwater photographer here! Photo editor on weekdays, freediving coach by the weekends. I discovered freediving a year ago, and it quickly became more than a hobby. Today, I coach new freedivers while documenting the underwater world through film and photography. 📷: @wordslefthansaid

I’m planning to make this a series throughout the year, so… Here’s what you might not know about hawksbill turtles. They help keep coral reefs alive, yet they’re critically endangered. The Philippines remains one of their last refuges, but habitat loss, fishing nets, and illegal trade threaten their survival every day. Protecting hawksbills means protecting our reefs and the life they support.
