Among my favorite things from 2023 are these frames from our film about multimedia portrait artist Delita Martin, for the National Museum of Women in the Arts
The film is now on display in the museumās permanent collection, in a big 3-channel triptych installation.
Big š to DP @_shannonpalmer for working w me to craft a visual language that would play across a large physical space and let museum visitors sink into Delitaās deeply contemplative process⦠And to our tireless producer @kyaquinn and of course to Delita š @blackboxpress

A bit nervous, relieved, and also thrilled to share that āBlue Room,ā a short film that I directed and produced, will premiere at @hotdocs_ next month. Those of you who know me well, know that Iāve been working on this one for a very long time - canāt wait to finally share it with you š
Thank you to Hayden, Jesus, Lena, Kyle, Terrence and Amanda for sharing these moments with me. And to my collaborators @isidorebethel@udyt@pilgrim_films@dsvarga for making this labor of love possible, and to our supporters @ifthenshorts@rooftopfilms@logannonfiction@mountainfilm

āIn two prisons in the Pacific Northwest, incarcerated men and women watch nature videos on loop, prompting reflections on isolation and the wilderness.ā
Happy 30th birthday to my little sister, who has been wild + tough + silly + brilliant from day one. Love you @missmaevemueller welcome to a new decade š
āIsnāt it fascinating that the simple act of drawing a line on a map can transform the way we see and experience the world?ā Here are a few stills from our film about the borderlands. Images by @lina_lyte and @shaunwolfephoto , who let me drive them through the desert for days on unmarked roads.
