We are celebrating three outstanding years with Kennedy as part of the team here at Mend!
Kennedy is constantly inspiring us with her passions for art and design in and out of the office. Her thoughtful attention to detail and innovative approach elevate every project she works on, and weāre so fortunate to collaborate with her - congratulations, Kennedy!
Proud to share The Heart of the Hill, an action-oriented vision for downtown Cedar Hill that turns community ideas into implementable next steps. From trail connections and complete streets to catalytic redevelopment, public spaces, and support for small businesses, this plan is about building a downtown that is more connected, walkable, welcoming, and distinctly rooted in Cedar Hillās identity as a City in a Park.

Big news for the Red River Cultural District!
This week, the District dropped Soundtrack to the Future, a bold 5+ year vision shaped by the people who make the District what it is: venues, businesses, partners, and fans. Itās all about protecting the soul of Red River while setting the stage for whatās next.
We had a blast at Mend Collaborative helping bring that future to life through conceptual visualizations of what the District might look like in the future!
Congratulations to Kennedy Rauh, PLA! ššæ
The entire team at Mend is incredibly proud of this accomplishment and the dedication it took to get here. Weāre so excited to watch Kennedy continue to grow in her career as a landscape architect and canāt wait to see all of the amazing work sheāll create in the years ahead. Congratulations, Kennedy!
Weāre excited to offer summer internship opportunities in urban planning and landscape architecture in our Austin, TX, Minneapolis, MN, and Richmond, VA offices for students who are curious, collaborative, and motivated by community-centered work. Interns at Mend gain hands-on experience supporting real projects while learning from a small, mission-driven team shaping meaningful places across the nation. Visit our website for more information on how to apply!š
Happy Mend-iversary, Bindu! Whether sheās exploring the outdoors or tackling a new design challenge, Bindu brings curiosity, thoughtfulness, and care to everything she does. Her creativity, positivity, and collaborative spirit make her a true joy to work with and weāre so grateful sheās part of the Mend team.
Mend is joining the general strike tomorrow to stand with our MPLS neighbors and donating to MIRAC, an organization fighting to end immigration raids and deportations.
Oh what fun we've had in 2025! āØ
This year took us across a wide range of projects alongside inspiring clients and collaborators. We were thrilled to welcome two new team members to Mend, C Terrence and Aziza, as well as two stellar summer interns, Lucia and Skylar. We also celebrated meaningful milestones with the installation of Mendās first built landscapes in Sunset Valley, TX, and Minneapolis, MN. Watching the communities we serve play, gather, and learn in spaces we helped create has been incredibly fulfilling. We are deeply grateful for our talented team and partners. Hereās to all the fun ahead in 2026!

Another fulfilling park design has wrapped! We are thrilled that the Elk River City Council has officially approved the concept plan for their Water Tower Historic Site. This visionary plan transforms a vacant lot beneath the historic Elk River water tower into a community and history focused site that reveals the deep history of this charming river town. When brought to life, this site will be a stop along the city's historic walking tour, be a place to stop and enjoy lunch outside, and for residents to take visiting family to teach them just how cool the history of Elk River is! Can't wait for the next steps! Congratulations, Elk River!
Well construction season has wrapped for 2025, and we are so excited to share how far the work at Folwell Park has come! Officially opening in spring 2026, the new all-wheel park and community gathering space in Folwell Park is already seeing a ton of community love. The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has been a phenomenal client and a visionary leader in bringing these unique spaces to the community. Canāt wait to see how many skaters shovel the bowl out to get some time in on this amazing park over the winter!
