The rumors are true. M E N A C E is now a paying market.
Ever since we started this magazine, we have dreamed of one day being able to pay contributors, and we finally have the infrastructure to do this. We will now offer $50 per accepted piece.
We believe that in this day and age it is more important than ever that creators are paid for their work. We also believe that paying creators aligns with our mission at M E N A C E to elevate voices marginalized in contemporary publishing. We wish we could pay more, but as a small magazine committed to keeping submissions free, this is all we can afford for the time being. If we keep growing -- who knows?
