The storm arrives first as an omen. The drums echo among the cliffs of Cyprus, in the ancient land of the Cyclops, where the sea meets the forgotten gods.
Today, we don’t dance to survive… we dance to be reborn. Under the gaze of Aphrodite, we leave behind dead loves, old fears, the broken masks of who we once were. The wind carries away the names of the past while the fire consumes what no longer belongs to the spirit. And then Harlequin appears… colorful, chaotic, beautiful in her sacred madness. Beside her, the Jester laughs at human pain, mocking the ego, tearing illusions like old silk. Because only those who learn to laugh at themselves cross the storm without being destroyed.
Tonight, Cyprus is not just an island. It is a portal. A ritual of electricity and salt. A pagan celebration where bodies vibrate like lightning and souls abandon old chains on the arena floor.
May the rain wash away.
May the thunder Awaken. May Aphrodite return to the heart what time has tried to erase.

This performance explores how relationships can shift from love into confusion, attachment, and distortion.
It looks at what happens after a breakup, when the mind refuses to fully accept reality and starts rebuilding the person in a different way
At one point, I drink an aphrodisiac tea, not to reconnect with my real ex, but with a fantasy that still exists in my mind after the relationship is over.
The performance reflects how we often miss not the person as they are, but the version we wanted them to be. And sometimes, we keep performing intimacy long after it has disappeared
This is something I created instead of texting him and welcoming him back into my life.
Not everything I present is a direct reflection of me, but I believe my mind knew something and that’s why it brought it into the performance. Most of it is spontaneous and driven by emotion.
If u want to share the experience, you are welcome to drink from the tea (bought in Turkey, an aphrodisiac with a slightly trippy effect).
If you find this triggering, I suggest you don’t avoid it, but observe why you feel this way. Please pay attention to your emotions throughout the performance, it can be quite therapeutic, and that is one of the main intentions of my work.

Mempsy (Maria) is a 24year old Greek performance artist blending fire, movement, and psychological exploration.
With a background in psychology and completed training in dramatherapy, her work focuses on the connection between sensation, emotion, and human perception. Since 2019, she has been developing a self taught daily practice across multiple disciplines.
Her performances incorporate fire props, visual manipulation, and hair suspension, creating immersive and symbolic experiences. She experiments through her performances, observing how they shape the audience’s psyche. Guided by the idea that the brain responds to sensation, often unable to distinguish between what is seen and what is truly experienced, she creates states meant to be felt rather than understood.
Through her art performances, she explores intense and often extreme themes, navigating spaces of discomfort, vulnerability, and emotional depth. Her work reflects on disconnection and the human need for connection, inviting the audience into a shared emotional and sensory experience.
She performs at festivals, events, and artistic spaces in Greece and abroad.
