I’ve dreamt of this studio for the last 25 years. Ever since I stepped foot in a recording studio, I’ve brainstormed ways to make “my own perfect studio”. Those ideas have grown and evolved through working in some of the best studios in the world and spending the last 19 years working in Studio 4, Conshohocken. It was always in Philly in my dreams, the city that made me and the city that has one of the best music communities. I wanted to build something truly unique, a facility that inspires any artists to make music, an environment that empowers artists and our community and one that artists can’t outgrow. From the rooms, to the lounges, to the gear, I wanted something for everyone and every situation. We’ve spent years drawing this up and I can’t believe it’s here.
I’m so proud to finally launch @memorymusicstudios in the heart of South Philadelphia. A home to make music and to grow the beautiful culture in our music world.

All the gear and vibes in the world
(Studio 4 Conshohocken is still alive and kicking, and I’m still a part of it , Memory Music Studios has been the growth I needed for our community)
When Philly’s Will Yip won a Grammy for producing the Best Rock Album of the year with @turnstileluvconnection , it looked the culmination of a two-decade climb through the music industry.
But the Northeast Philly native has even bigger goals in mind. He wants Philly to be the indie rock capital of the world.
As part of that quest, Yip just opened Memory Music Studios in an industrial swath of South Philly.
It may seem an unlikely place for a music producer to make his big bet. But Yip is determined to attract talent to Philly. And he’s got the credentials to do it.
Known for his prodigious output, keen ear and legendary work ethic, Yip has worked with the likes of @mannequinpussy , @queenofjeans , @themezingers , @thestartinglinerock , @codeorangetoth , @tigersjaw , and @mslaurynhill .
His new studio is bright, airy and clean — a far cry from the “vibey and moody” spaces commonly found in rock production. Yip believes Memory Music — with its polish and comfort — can help Philly compete with likes of NYC, LA, and Nashville.
