We’ve been told our senses are meant to perceive the world around us. Our tongue tastes, our eyes see, our nose smells and our skin feels–an undeniable truth. All of them, conditioned by their design and nature. They can’t perform each others’ tasks. Together, they work thoroughly and non-stop to make us feel alive.
You may be wondering why we have not mentioned our ears so far. Duality is the answer. Whilst the other four do one thing and one thing only, hearing will never be the same as listening.
Because when you hear, you react, but when you listen, you understand. Being able to hear places you in proximity, but being able to listen automatically makes you part of it. While hearing carries an electrical impulse for your brain to interpret, listening carries a meaning for your heart to empathize with.
And these are profoundly different...
