Last night was the seventh monthly showcase I've produced at @theactivistkitchen and it might've been the best show yet. Such a fun lineup. Thank you to all the comics who came out and killed, all the ppl who came out to support the show, my buddy Adam for the awesome photography, Kevin Holmes for the music and absorbing my good-natured abuse and Katie for giving us a cool space to have fun. Next show is 6/11. I'm almost done promoting this cool and weird show on Friday night. I know most of you don't live out here and you don't care, but it's going to be a lot of fun. If you're in town (east Hollywood), come out and see the lineup that was good enough to entice one of the funniest comics in Portland to make the trip out here to headline.
My mom is one of the funniest people I have ever known and is definitely heavily responsible for my sense of humor. She's one of the strongest and most resilient people I know and has taught me many important and complex lessons about navigating life, without even being aware of doing so. She has one of the best hearts of any human being I've ever encountered and has helped countless people in very meaningful ways.
Still, when the day comes that she leaves me behind on this Earthly plane of existence, the only thing I will be able to think of is how I regret spending Sunday with her instead of watching three hours of Black and short jokes on Netflix.
