Over 1.4 million children in Tigray are out of school due to the destruction of classrooms, resources, and infrastructure caused by the war.
Only 8% of the younger cohort completed Grade 12 in 2023—down from 16% in 2016.
88% of classrooms and 96% of desks were damaged or destroyed.
