URGENT: We need tents for families sleeping outside. So many people, including elders and small children, are spending their nights in the open after the hurricane. We’ve already donated every tent we had, and the need is still overwhelming. If you have a new or gently used tent, please donate. One tent can shelter an entire family. 📍 Drop-off: Liguanea, Kingston 📞 876-598-6715 Please share this post so we can reach more people. Let’s help our people find safety, warmth, and dignity during this devastating time. 💛🇯🇲 Link in Bio to Donate

Hi, my name is Melissa Bloomfield, founder of Buds & Brushes JA — an art, music, and wellness initiative that has spent the past 6 years giving back to communities and charities across Jamaica. Through our gatherings, we’ve raised support for homes, schools, and wellness spaces, always with one mission in mind: to use creativity and community to uplift others. Today, that mission feels more personal than ever. Our beautiful island of Jamaica has just been hit by one of the most catastrophic hurricanes in our history. The destruction is heartbreaking — homes washed away, families displaced, communities cut off, and lives forever changed. Buds & Brushes has always been about giving back, but this time, we’re pausing our celebrations to focus entirely on rebuilding hope. This GoFundMe is a direct call for help — not for an event, but for our people. Funds raised will go toward providing relief to families in need — food, water, shelter, and essential supplies — as well as helping communities begin the long road to recovery. Every dollar, every share, every gesture of love matters. 🇯🇲 If you can’t give financially, we’re also collecting essential items like: • Flashlights, batteries, tarps • Bottled water • Non-perishable food • Toiletries & hygiene products • Baby items (diapers, wipes, formula) • Clothing, shoes, bedding, and towels Jamaica has always been known for its strength, resilience, and heart. I know that together, we can rise again. Thank you for standing with us, for caring, and for believing in the power of community. With love, Melissa Bloomfield 💚💛🖤 Founder, Buds & Brushes JA click link in bio to donate

Jamaica has long been synonymous with cannabis—rooted in culture, music, and history—but for many, the plant still carries a heavy stigma. One entrepreneur is on a mission to change that narrative. Melissa Bloomfield, founder of Mel Tree Eats and the visionary behind Buds and Brushes JA, is breaking barriers by turning passion into purpose, using plant medicine to educate, empower, and give back. This is the story of Mel Tree Eats. #CVMNews

Seven years into motherhood and my heart is fuller than ever. 💐 Being a single mom has come with challenges, sacrifices, long nights, and moments of wondering if I’m doing enough, but it has also been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. To be able to raise, guide, protect, and love my child on my own has shown me a strength I never knew I had. Every hard moment has been worth the joy, love, and beautiful memories that come with being a mom. ❤️ Today I also give thanks that I still have my beautiful mother with us at 89 years old. What a blessing it is to still receive a mother’s love while being able to give that same love to my own child. Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mom, to myself, and to all the strong, loving, hardworking mothers out there. May we continue to rise through every challenge and cherish the rewards that make motherhood so special. 🌸💕

Such an honor to have had the legendary Stephen “Cat” Coore @catcoore73 of @thirdworldband on the Buds & Brushes JA journey alongside Rupert Bent @rupertbent . One of my proudest moments, having you perform from my home, streaming love and music into homes across the globe during the Covid times when the world needed it most. I remember when I ran into you in the parking lot of Loshusans and told you about the event and invited you to join our journey. Rupert even shared tons of equipment for us to use while in lockdown and you supported us 100%. The news of your passing has shaken all who knew and loved you. But as your song reminds us, “Always Around” so we know even though you’ve physically left us, you will forever live in our hearts. You know I love you, right? 🤍 Rest in power, Cat. 🕊️

A little late, but right on time 🤍 We paused posting after our event which took place just a week before the hurricane,as our energy shifted toward supporting in a different direction following the hurricane. Now, we’re finally ready to share this special moment. We had the honor of being featured on @jamaica_uncut , highlighting the beauty of Buds & Brushes JA – 6 Years ✨ A celebration of art, music, wellness, and community, with giving back at the heart of it all. For this leg, we were proud to support SOS Children’s Village. @sosvillagesja This is just the first glimpse—more footage from our 6-year anniversary coming soon. Endless gratitude to Jamaica Uncut for the feature and to all our best buds for the continued love and support 🌿💚 See full video on Jamaica Uncut YouTube…Look up Buds and Brushes Jamaica and Subscribe, like and share
