For the past few years, my fav producer @djadkins.wav and I have been working on a special project after the kids go to bed 🎸
My new 10-song album “Sweet Spot” is finally ready for your ears this Friday! The first single, “Magic Feeling,” drops on February 13 ✨
This song feels a little different from the rest of the record in the best way. I had the joy of collaborating with the wildly talented @joealterman on this one 🎹, and you can feel his sparkle all over it. What he brings to the track makes it warmer, looser, and more alive than I ever imagined.
The rest of the album will roll out one song at a time in the coming months. It’s jazzy, funky, soulful, honest and fun! 💕
But for now… Magic Feeling will be yours in 2 days! 💫
☀️ Summer has always been my favorite season. Named my second daughter after it, just so I’d never forget. And summertime with two little girls is simply magical. 🌈 It’s popsicles and slip n slides, matching sandals and being barefoot all day, late nights on the patio, lightning bugs, surprise thunderstorms and puddle walks in the thick humidity, it’s playing with neighbors, rainbow pedicures, watermelon-stained cotton dresses, it’s playing dress up and painting murals, it’s longer days and shorter to-do lists, more time for art and music and making up recipes, it’s saltwater and sand and painting seashells, it’s hugging your cousins and climbing trees and sprinklers and rolling down the grassy hill at the farmers market. But most of all, it’s the sweetness of sisterhood, a dynamic I knew nothing about as a kid, constantly amazing me with its joy 👯♀️💞🌻
🍉 This week I played my first show since becoming a mom! ⚡️

🎤 Feels like home to be back onstage, feels surreal to see my girls dancing in the audience, and it feels like a miracle that one of the songs they’re dancing to is called “Rosemary,” which I wrote in 2019 in the throes of infertility, when I desperately wondered if I would ever meet them 🥹 🕊️

💿 My new album is in the works for release this fall. My talented producer @djadkins.wav and I work on this project when the kids go to bed early enough (for 3 years and counting 😅)

🌞💛 Summer Hayes is ONE! 🎉 Her personality is starting to shine these days. She’s smiley, goofy, chill, keeps us laughing, and goes with the flow 〰️ She’s a total mama’s girl, never took a bottle 😳 and still breastfeeds 4x a day ✨ Her favorite food is watermelon 🍉, and she has loved swimming and playing in the water since day one 💦 (literally day one, since she was born in a bathtub 😆). Her birthday theme was “Endless Summer Hayes” 🏄♀️ and her sunny personality truly embodies her name in every way. She started walking at 11 months, and started preschool this week! According to Carmen Rose, she and her sister are already “best friends forever and ever” 🥹 Happy birthday Hazy girl! We love you 🧡🩷💛
