Rather than a group buy, we went ahead and started production on about 50 units that will be available for Pre-Order from November 8th through December 8th, 2025. Pre-Order will be priced at $325 USD and will be available at Melonbred Shop (link in bio) and @yushakobo !
MB-44 v2 will be available in 3 colors: silver, strawberry milk (pink), and marimo (deep green).
Once the Pre-Order window closes, we are expecting to have units shipped to customers in January 2026. The remaining available units will be available in-stock at $350 USD, taxes and shipping not included.

Always an admirer of 40s, this one has an arrow blocker and also a big space bar if you’d like. There have been a few changes including a case and pcb rework. While the outer case is still the same ish, it now has the accent weight that also functions as the internal cover. Internal cavities have reduced too. It now uses tadpole mounting.
If you’re interested, there is an IC that you can fill out. Hoping this color gets picked 🙌 if you’re going to keeblife, I’ll be bringing this there!!

MB-44 v2 prototypes have arrived!
This is the first of several builds from the prototype round to use test and gain feedback. One design change from the MJF prototype is the mounting has been updated to use Geon’s tadpoles for plate mounting which has been wonderful to use on this prototype.
A proper IC will follow hopefully soon. Very excited to get the ball rolling on interest check and moving forward with this project!

One step closer to MB-44 v2!
After several iterations, the case combines a loft from the original MB-44 and the simple side profile cut of MB-TKL. In general, the idea was to slim down the MB-44: smaller footprint and lower EKH/front height. I’ll be testing this MJF prototype for a bit before moving forward with CNC machined prototypes.
More details to come as I test and workout the design. In the meantime, I’d love to know what y’all think!

This is a long overdue appreciation post to Jake at P3D. Jake was so great to work with and was always supportive, bouncing ideas back and forth and collaborating on projects. From projects as old as Program Yoink! to bringing Pegasus to life, the experience was such a trip. Then looking beyond, we had plans to run Griffin (60% in the style of Pegasus) and mbtkl before the hard news of P3D shutting down.
So just wanted to give a shout out to a good friend that brought joy in this hobby for me and a lot of folks in the community. Thanks for everything!

MB-44 v2 Prototype PCB.
Been kicking around the idea of revisiting the mb44 project, and finally had time to work on it. The biggest change is the switch to STM32F072 for all your combos, tap dance and mod-tap needs in VIAL. Also super happy to finally use this banner graphic.
MB-44 v2 case will be updated to be modern but still retain some of the characteristics from the original design. Hoping to prototype the case soon!

This was from some round of prototyping about a year or so ago. This version is completely screwless, but it has since been updated to use case screws. Gasket mounted and PCB with two flex cuts makes for a wonderfully soft typing experience. This is built with an FR4 plate and Durock Ceruleans. Tactiles in a soft keyboard build?! That’s right, and it’s an absolute joy to use!
This board is now in group buy over at cbkbd.com. While i love this prototype, the final version has a ton of QoL updates and modernized design. Unfortunately, PC is not an option but the ano colors available look neat! Go check it out!
