Family law. Real consequences. National conversation. This morning, our founder Melanie Vairawanathan appeared live on The Morning Show on @channel7 , where she was asked to provide expert commentary on breakups, social media, and what not to post online during family law proceedings. Speaking with @larryemdur and @kyliegillies Melanie shared practical legal insight into how online behaviour can directly impact Court outcomes, referencing the very public Beckham saga as a reminder that discretion online is critical. The takeaway was simple. The internet remembers everything. And the Court can see it too. #MelmarkLaw #FamilyLawAustralia #Channel7 #LawInTheMedia #WomenInLaw

✨ Reliving the Magic of No Place to Go ✨ 💜 1 October 2025 : the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the night No Place to Go was born. A sold-out event. A room filled with strength, truth, and unshakable purpose. We called it No Place to Go because that’s the heartbreaking reality for so many women and children facing family violence. 💔 53 women lost in 2025. 💔 158 since 1 January 2024. These are not just numbers. They are lives. As Family Lawyers, we see this every day : the fear, the silence, the systems that sometimes fail. It’s time to listen harder, act faster, and never look away. Back in May, when we sat down and said we have to do something, we never imagined how far this night would reach. We are deeply honoured to support and amplify the extraordinary work of @sherelemoodyfemicidewatch , whose relentless fight to expose and end violence against women continues to save lives and spark national change. Her courage gives truth a voice and this event was built in honour of that truth. Thanks to the power, generosity, and compassion in that room, we raised $6,000 for the Red Heart Campaign, helping fund transitional housing for women and children who deserve safety, dignity, and a future. To our fierce speakers, Boyd and Bianca Unwin @voicesforkatie and Lee Little thank you for your honesty, your pain, your power. You moved us. You reminded us why this fight matters. This night wasn’t about easy answers. It was about truth. To everyone who showed up, shared, donated, and supported - thank you. You turned an idea into impact. And the conversations haven’t stopped. People are talking, sharing, questioning, and demanding change. Exactly what we hoped for. This is only the beginning. ⚡️ No Place to Go – Part 2 returns in 2026. #NoPlaceToGo #DVAM2025 #DomesticViolenceAwareness #RedHeartCampaign #FamilyViolence #SurvivorStory #UntilEveryHomeIsSafe #LegalVoicesForChange #WeSeeYou #WeWillNotLookAway #Melmarklaw #smallfirmbigimpact

Not once, but twice on ✨ @morningshowon7 ✨ Our Founder and Principal Lawyer, @melanievairawanathan , returned to national television to discuss one income relationships and the important financial conversations couples should be having before making long term decisions. The segment explored: • financial transparency • long term planning • superannuation contributions • protecting the stay at home partner • financial independence and awareness • and the green and red flags couples often overlook At Melmark Law, we believe family law is not just about separation. It is also about helping people make informed, empowered decisions throughout their relationships. A one income relationship is not the risk. Going into it without a plan is. #MelmarkLaw #TheMorningShow #FamilyLaw #lawdonedifferently

At Melmark Law, we don’t talk about impact. We build it. And last week, that impact was recognised globally. Our Founder and Principal Lawyer, @melanievairawanathan , was recognised at the @thewomenchangingtheworld Global Summit and Awards held at the Crowne Plaza Republique in Paris. Gold – Woman in Professional Services Silver – Woman in Law Recognition at this level is not built in a moment. It is earned over time through discipline, strategy, and an uncompromising standard. If you know how she works, this will not surprise you. She built this firm from the ground up. No shortcuts. No safety net. Just vision, execution, and consistency. What she has built is a practice that fights for you. Strategic. Precise. Relentless when it matters most. The kind of representation that changes outcomes. The kind of leadership that sets the standard. She was also selected to co author a book alongside 24 women globally, launched in Paris. A collective defined by resilience, strength, and forward momentum. We are proud of our Founder. And we know that she is only just getting started. 💫

The first 7 days after separation? This is where cases are quietly won or lost. Not in Court. Not months later. Right here. We see it every day. People making quick decisions to keep the peace… And then spending months trying to undo them. If you have just separated, slow it down. Think strategically. Protect your position. Get advice early. Because once a pattern forms, it is very hard to change. If you are in this position now, you do not have to figure it out alone. Reach out for a confidential strategy session. #separation #empathy #knowthelaw #strategize #melmarklaw

I co-authored a book Resilience & Reinvention… and it’s launching at the @thewomenchangingtheworld Summit & Global Awards in Paris next week. Still feels surreal saying that out loud. So humbled to be part of this alongside such incredible women who have turned adversity into power, and stories into impact. @peace.mitchell and @katypartygirl , thank you for the opportunity, the platform, and for being the living embodiment of women supporting women. Available on Amazon and Spotify soon. This one is special 🤍 #WomenChangingTheWorld #ResilienceAndReinvention #WomenInBusiness #FemaleFounders #GlobalImpact

It was today last month that we attended the 30 Under 30 Awards at The Star Sydney ✨ We were there to celebrate Landi being named a finalist in Family Law, and it was a truly special night. This recognition reflects the way she shows up every day. Thoughtful, strategic, and genuinely invested in her clients and their outcomes. Landi, we are incredibly proud of you. This is so well deserved, and only the beginning. At Melmark Law, we don’t just hire talent. We invest in it, mentor it, and build it into something exceptional. This is the standard. This is the calibre. This is the quality we stand behind. #MelmarkLaw #30Under30 #FamilyLaw #WomenInLaw #LegalExcellence

Most people only learn this after it’s too late. Confidential doesn’t always mean protected in the way you think. There is a process. And there are ways to deal with it properly. The timing of when you get advice matters. Save this. #familylaw #legaltruth #divorcesupport #knowyourrights #melmarklaw

A one income relationship isn’t the risk. Going into it without a plan is. We see this all the time. It’s not about who earns. It’s about who has visibility, access and protection. Because when things break down, the question isn’t “what felt fair” It’s “what was actually set up” The difference between security and vulnerability usually comes down to structure. Have the conversations early. Set it up properly. Protect yourself. Save this. You might need it later. #familylaw #financialindependence #divorceadvice #relationshipfinance #Melmarklaw

Victims of rape and domestic violence deserve to know their disclosures to counsellors remain confidential, but recent media reporting has highlighted a flaw that anyone navigating the family or criminal courts has known for a long time - these conversations can be accessed by perpetrators for legal purposes. This includes notes, transcripts, audio and video files from support services such as 1800 RESPECT. I asked Melbourne lawyer @melanievairawanathan Vairawanathan - of @melmarklaw - to shine a light on what is happening and to explain how women and girls can protect themselves. ❤️SUPPORT MY WORK❤️ Please support my work and the Memorial to Women and Children Lost to Violence and Australian Femicide Watch.
