Ten years ago, I bought my first (@canonusa ) camera after taking a Digital Photography class for fun; not knowing where it would lead only knowing that it felt right (2016 lore). Over time that feeling turned into passion and photography became my creative language. What started as an outlet to create and explore evolved into a space where people are celebrated and creativity is at the forefront. MelissaBStudios (@visualsbymelissabstudios ) is the result of following that first feeling, again and again, and choosing to listen to it every single time even on the cloudy days. My mission is to use photography as a tool for storytelling and connection while creating a space where people feel inspired to share their own stories. This journey has had its fair share of lessons and blessings, however the support and relationships built along the way make it all worth it.

I’m still in awe that we pulled off this entire live art installation 🥲🖤
This whole creation has been healing for me too… as I navigate my own “in-between” season.
To every vendor, artist, musician, actor, dancer, wellness facilitator, thank you.
Y’all didn’t just show up… you captured the vision in a way that truly shook people to their core. The amount of messages I’ve received from people saying this experience opened conversations they normally would never have, not even with their closest friends, means everything to me.
That’s what this was about.
Creating a safe space for people to feel, reflect, connect, and heal out loud.
The full recap video is going to be so special, but right now I’m just basking in what was created together.
It really takes a community.
And this nonprofit event? This is just the beginning of what Creatives for Mental Health is about to do.
