WHOAAAA HAPPY TUESDAY, EVERYBODY!!!! I am beyond thrilled to say I'm joining a list of amazing artists/amazing people coming together to play some songs for some @vintage_pet_rescue poopers!! I have written my song for Rocky (tentatively) called "I Just Need a Friend," which is ironic because Rocky ALREADY GOT ADOPTED!!!!! I'm so happy for that beautiful, kissy little boy and his new family. If you're around the Pawtucket, RI area on 4/25 - there are definitely WAY worse places to find yourself at than @guildri . ABOUT LAST NIGHT!!!!! Hey @stevenharz_americanasoul , what do you think about dang near selling out @canteancafe ?????????? A MONDO THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT LAST NIGHT!!!!! We had family, friends, friends I haven't seen in a few years, it was such an amazing night. As always, Steve freaking killed it. He always talks about how he got blown away when he saw me at that Cantean open mic last year, but I don't think he knows that I was so amazed by his voice and the way he told stories through his writing that night. And then to find out he'd only been writing music for like 5 years at that point made me mad 😂 AMAZING job last night, sir. A HUGE SHOUT-OUT once again to everyone who decided to part with their homes for a couple of hours and pay to see some original music. That's not an easy decision to make (especially in this economy), and it's not lost on me so truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. A HUGEEEEEE shout-out to the incomparable @meadowsmusic_ for absolutely murdering it on sound and keeping the spot in the window a sacred place. It may look easy to some, maybe not, but a bad live mix can change the entire outcome of a night and that's actually a lot easier to achieve than a good mix - believe it or not!! So. Despite operating at less than 100% last night, Christina showed up and absolutely killed it. I would love it if you all clapped for her now as you read this post. A HUGEEEEEE shout-out to Cantean for allowing us to have a space to share our craft. It's also not lost on me that in no way shape or form do they HAVE to keep the place open late, do they HAVE to allow us to share our music, they don't HAVE to be the best dang cafe in Hamden, but time and time again they just do it. Whatchu know about baked beans in a mug?? Also. I finished writing the song for Rocky, the best boy I musically adopted from @vintage_pet_rescue . Turns out, he got actually adopted!!!!! I got to see him one more time on Saturday before he made his trip home to New Hampshire (and there's DEFINITELY a song there!). Can't wait to play Paws and Listen with so many amazing artists for a beautiful cause. Huge shout out to @biggerbeastrecords for having me on!!!! Anyway, happy Tuesday, y'all!!

MEET ROCKY!!! ​ Yesterday, I spent some time at @vintage_pet_rescue in Foster, RI, to find my inspiration for the 2nd Annual Paws & Listen Music Festival and I think I found a soulmate in Rocky. ​Rocky is an 11-year-old senior who doesn’t let being mostly blind slow down his affection. In fact, the second I sat down with him, he made it clear what his priority was: kisses. Literally. This sweet boy licked my hand for 20 minutes straight. It was like he had years of love saved up and decided I was the lucky one who needed it that day. ​As one of 12 songwriters musically adopting an animal this year, my goal is to translate that kind of pure, unwavering devotion into a song. He navigates his world with a quiet grace and a lot of heart. ​I’m already working on the lyrics to capture that gentle, persistent sweetness. He’s a reminder that even when the world gets a little blurry, love is something you can feel (and in his case, definitely taste!). ​Join us! ABOUT LAST NIGHT!!!! First time playing at the @thestackbpt - their pizza is REAL good. HUGE thank you to @zandersenmusic for putting everything together, it's always a blast to see that dude. Great seeing @mikebrandonmusic for the first time - what a freaking voice and off the chart guitar stuff. I can now check off that I've seen the @annemariementa and @shannonmcmahonmusic as The Martin Girls. Last but absolutely certainly not least, big thanks to the man Bob D @ctroxradio for doing the sound thing. SUCH a great night!!! I took the photos of everyone other than me.
