So great to see so many folks having a dip and letting it rip, whatever that means to them.
And to meet the amazing Marilyn who has bravely and honourably kept her daughterās memory alive for 40 years.
But trying to run fast, my version of fast, is very hard!
If Tarawera was a person, the internet would say our relationship was toxic.
A week removed and I still donāt know what went wrong. too little salt? too much water? general softness and unwillingness to endure? Probably a little of all of the above.
Itās funny how you only learn things in this sport by racing and things going wrong. You collect little tips and tricks and add them to your quiver for the next one. And the fun part is you never know whatās going to go wrong until it does!

My first 100k was the reverse course, Rotorua to Kawerau and it took 16:49! Surely we can smash that on the return, even with the mud!

Well this one deserves a post on the grid!
Signed up 9 minutes before the race, ran 8 loops around the Saddle track, sweeped the podium!
1st for Megs, 2nd for me and a 58 minute PR at this event (because I havenāt done it since 2017!)
Wanted it to be a bit of a late race simulation for events coming up, mostly it was the mental piece, trying to stay consistent with my pace and not to quitting each lap, as well as a sneaky mid week long run. It was meant to be some night running practice too but I ran too fast for the sun!
