Yesterday was full of new releases: Jade Arrow, Jade Arrow Supreme and Long Jing Supreme! A full video is coming tomorrow where I explain what makes a tea supreme and why I stock two versions of one tea + a little tasting of each. In the meantime, enjoy some photos of these springy greens and a few details on each.
Jade Arrow Supreme: Made from the unique Dong Shan Huang cultivar. Honeydew melon, salt bread, warm milk, creamy marrow and gooseberries. Thick, soft and elegant with a mineral finish that lingers to a sweetness reminiscent of lemon drizzle cake.
Jade Arrow: Salted yolk custard, bran flakes, fresh peans, lemon posset, light jasmine. Brothy, bright and comforting.
Long Jing Supreme: Authentic West Lake Long Jing from Lion’s Peak. Toasted rice, roasted chestnuts, lemon-syrup sweetness and green melon refreshment. Thick, balanced, pure and poised.

Have you seen? Iron Monk is back! After 6 years of searching we finally found a Tie Luo Han worthy of its name. This immaculate Zhengyan Iron Monk is bursting with fruits- blackcurrant, mangosteen, grapes and watermelon (but imagine they are all sticky hard candies) there are pops of non food notes of fresh paper, worked steel and snow that add a ringing clarity.
The elegance of this tea appears in the aftertaste: clean, sweet, airy and quiet despite its aromatic pungency and mineral richness.
