Just thinking about that time @levicutsmyhair visited me in New York during my Broadway debut, to cut my hair in a balcony room at the Chelsea Hotel, after years of sharing our dreams and watching them manifest in real time. I remember sitting in their chair when I lived in Indianapolis (a strange time), fresh after a rough breakup, promising myself and the universe I would make it to Broadway. Their response? "...and I'll fly in and do your hair." And they did. And of course I brought my guitar and played Leonard Cohen on the balcony. And they took this photo. And I miss them.
Glasgow is so blessed to have you, Levi.
or, "Sad Song Sunday."
If you feel like sitting in something a little raw, a little tender, and very human, I'd love to have you there.
Come honor the closing of a chapter, as I head back to NYC🤍

I am nowhere near being ready to say khodahafez to this show, to this cast, and to what this experience has done for my soul. 7 more times to experience the exhilaration of being unapologetically Iranian on an American stage.
Swipe all the way through to see the Iranians I came from; the family I honor on stage night after night.
📷5: my Grandmother Mina and her mother, Mehri (whom I'm named after), Iran 1960s.
📷6: Mina, Mehri and baby Mehry. LA, '89.
📷7: last photo I have with my Grandmother, LA 2016
📷8: My baba, 15 years old
📷9: Me and Baba, both around 6-8 years old.
Merci, merci, merci.
Teatro Pescadero was hosted in Ibiza for a month with our adaptation of Kahlil Gibran's "The Prophet". The experience was nothing short of life changing.
