lately i’ve been juggling making new work, running a mail club, and constantly trying to educate & convince people why print rules
💐
just finished a cool print that combines riso + screenprinting and i’m honestly so happy with how it turned out. I haven’t done any actual screenprinting that wasn’t just demo work in a while, so getting to bring both of my print loves together felt very special
🌈

💘Hay ____ En Casa was really special last night.💘
Thank you to everyone who showed up to our casita and made it such a warm generous evening!
If you’d like to spend more time with the show you can book an appointment at [email protected]. Open Hours begin on Wednesdays in March. More soon.
It’s a new year and I’m back in teaching mode. Teaching all things print at SAIC, Lillstreet, & Hyde Park Art Center. ✏️
My winter break was mostly all-nighters building syllabi and prepping classes, with some riso prints in between (and riso mishaps, of course).
My email newsletter just went out if you’re subscribed! If you’re not 😔, you just missed a recap at what I’ve been up to, plus Basurita Mail Club letters from December & January.
Link in bio to subscribe to both because you know you’re chismosa. 💋💅🏼
You found some Basurita on your timeline! ❇️
January marked 6 months of Basurita Mail Club, so you know I had to make a riso print of a trash bag for January’s drop. 🗑️
As the new year kicks off, there are lots of little life updates but I’m back in the classroom in a few places right now: SAIC, Lillstreet, and now Hyde Park Art Center! It’s a lot being all over the place, but I’m grateful and excited to keep moving forward doing what I love. I’m also hoping this year I can make more room to turn some of my art ideas on post it notes taped to my computer into some new work. 🤞🏼
Swipe to see everything included in the January drop, and check the last slide for a sneak peek at what’s coming in February💘

Print doesn’t have to stay on the wall.
In From Print to Pocket, Marylu E. Herrera reimagines Risograph prints as collectible keychains, complete with fully printed packaging, backing cards and stickers. Produced from her home studio, each piece carries the colour, texture and playfulness of Riso into an everyday object.
The project explores how print can move beyond flat formats and become something people carry, use and interact with.
