I had a conversation with my friend today that made me go back through my camera roll and look at old videos and photos of myself lifting.
When I look at them now, I honestly donāt even recognise the person Iām looking at. Itās strange because the only version of myself I tend to compare myself to is the physique I had at my leanest, deepest cut. And when that becomes your ānormalā, itās so easy to forget just how far youāve actually come.
I think sometimes we place so much of our confidence in how our body looks, when in reality your physique can change so quickly. You have far more control over it than you think. The thing that matters most is the person behind it - the discipline, the consistency, the fact you continue to show up for yourself even on the hard days.
Looking back reminded me that growth isnāt just physical. Sometimes you need to reflect on your journey to realise how much youāve changed, how much youāve overcome, and how proud you should be of the person youāve become. š¤
