Mrs Lovett’s little devil ❤️🔥 so proud of my girl @elliotwouldnt
I found the frequency of wild mirth I love to perform in by their side and it has been a beautiful thing to do our work a stones throw from eachother this comedy festival.
You have ONE (1) MORE CHANCE to see Mrs Lovett’s Famous Meat Pies Grand Reopening Extravaganza 🥧 tonight! April 12, 8:20 pm Motley Bauhaus, Cabaret Stage. Get to it ❤️🔥
Genius Jamesey wrote a show. There have been many that have worked hard to bring it to life, but on our closing I want to celebrate them for a moment.
This play cares for the world and its audiences in a way I think all art should strive to. It is fun, courageous and deeply acknowledges the beauty and terror of life today and eternally. Unafraid to say what it thinks whilst also leaving a gap for people to find their own path to understanding. It is kind to people whose hearts are hurting for any number of reasons. It has been a rare honour to make something so ambitious in form, theme and scope.
James gave me the gift of my favourite character in Salaì. Salaì is a fool that is made and remade continually. Their queerness has allowed me to play and be seen in how queerness has always felt to me. The resounding euphoria speaks to the alchemical magic of this craft.
James also assembled an ensemble of the most beautiful makers you could ever meet, and created a space where I have gotten to learn from heroes of the craft.
To bring it together, James gave us a process of rigour and extreme mirth that has spanned months, periods of grief, planetary uncertainty and James navigating life across two continents. James has let us play in, pull apart and stitch the playground of his words back together again and again and again with extreme generosity and expertise of how stories are built. It has been a big challenge, but my heart feels full of courage now.
Throughout the whole period they have been a beautiful partner and support to me in and out of process.
I hope very very much that we get another run, somewhere along the line. I love doing this show. Viva little devil!
We have one more show tonight! We’d love you to be there, to help up bring it home ❤️🔥
A huge thank you to @the.ryan.hamilton for their thoughtful words on 🎭Little Devil and the War Machine🎭 in their latest ‘Gag City’ dispatch.
According to Ryan, the "demon twinks" and "hyper-masc himbos" of 1502 surprisingly have a lot to say about the military-industrial complex of 2026. This little devil concurs.😈
Only a few shows remain! Don’t miss your chance to make love and break empires.

The plans are drawn, the catapult cocked.
🎭Little Devil and the War Machine🎭 is officially live at The Motley WhereHaus for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Forced by a tyrant to invest the future of warfare, Leonardo da Vinci may be a Renaissance Man, but his boyfriend Salaì is a Renaissance Menace; hellbent on sabotaging sieges and dynamiting desire in a queer Commedia rollick that blows the dust off history with an overcompensating canon. Witness a foolish fusion of physical comedy and satire with enough anatomical accuracy and raunchy perspective to make a master painter blush.
