This is hard to say, but I need to be honest with myself and with y’all… I was wrong.
So with a very heavy heart, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the remainder of my shows for the year, starting in June. I’ll finish the last couple of shows I have this month, then I’ll be stepping away from touring for the rest of the year to focus on my family, my health, and this baby girl we prayed so hard for. I’ll still be making music, and honestly, I feel like I’m writing some of the best songs of my life right now. So I will not be disappearing or “quitting”, just doing things a little differently in the best way for not only the quality of my music, but also for my family.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, bought tickets, shown me grace, and loved me through every season. I promise I’ll be back when the time is right, and it will be worth the wait.
I am glad to know that one day when my baby girl is old enough, she will know that not only did her mama put her first, but that I had an entire village behind me who encouraged me to do so and wanted the best for her before she was even born. So many of you have brought Mitchell and I such beautiful and thoughtful baby gifts over the last few months and we are so grateful for your kindness. Baby girl is gonna be the best dressed and have several outfit changes a day for a while thanks to y’all. Thank you, I love you, and I am heading into this chapter feeling very at peace 💛

What an incredible few weeks it’s been on the western leg of The Golden Child tour… truly some of my favorite shows ever and I got to do it all with my baby girl 🥹
A huge thank you to my incredible band @mfpeaglekats for being the absolute best, most hardworking band and crew a pregnant girl could ask for. Touring pregnant is exhausting and so much harder than I could have imagined, and these boys took such great care of me and made it as easy on me as possible.
Another big thank you to my girl @thatsmehaileyb for not only being an absolute rockstar every night on the stage, but for also being such a kind and genuine soul off the stage and for bringing along her own amazing band and crew that were hardworking, professional, helpful and super talented.
Putting together a headlining tour is no small task and has a lot of moving parts and I’m so grateful to my management on the road and back in Nashville for making it all run smoothly! @randimcfadden@sayrehenleybaker@hiddenbehindmylens
Lastly, and certainly not least, thank you to every single fan who showed up night after night, bought the merch, and sang every word louder than any crowd I’ve played for. I can and can’t believe it’s been 10 years since releasing my first solo record, Grace & Grit. In some ways it feels crazy to say that record is a decade old, but at the same time it feels like it was a different life, and I was definitely a different woman and artist than I am today. I’m so grateful to that girl for all the hard lessons she learned, (one of which was how to properly draw on her eyebrows 😂). I’m grateful for her perseverance, her determination, and her passion for trying to find herself through her music.
That record launched a new chapter in my career as a solo artist after years of playing in bands and not really having my own identity. After signing my first major record deal, that record gave me my first radio single, the first song that ever got a placement in a movie, my first collaboration with the amazing Joe Nichols, my first top 10 at Canadian radio, and a lot of fans who are still coming to my shows 10 years later. Not too bad for a girl who used to busk for beer money and rent.
Here’s to 10 years of you Grace & Grit, and everything you’ve given me 💛
