Charleston County Council Meeting 1.27.26. The room was full to capacity with residents concerned about what new obligations to DHS and ICE are hidden in a certain grant. I left after the Council voted to postpone a vote in order to take a closer look. Many people left at that time. I have since heard that after the room cleared, the Council reversed course and approved the grant funds. That is an admittedly confusing result. One thing is clear, this community shows up for our neighbors.
