I have found although I am absolutely a nature girl at heart, I can't help but love a big city. I am enchanted by the art, architecture, culture, history, the romanticized lens of it all. Then I crave finding these quiet little pockets of serenity.

Earth Day storytime-
Today I went to trade in and upgrade one of my lenses. I ended up purchasing a used 35mm 1.2 lens, and it inspired me to make this post.
One of my goals this year was to show up more authentically on socials, and one aspect of that is stating my values. I try to make eco-conscious decisions especially in a luxury industry. There are so many shortcuts and pressures to do and have the latest and greatest. I pour my whole heart into my couples, and a big part of my human-forward business approach is protecting our planet.
For MMC this looks like:
🌎 Anti-AI- I hand-edit and cull every single image. There is of course an aspect to AI when it comes to removing spots to aesthetically improve images, but I try to keep this to a minimum.
🌍 film-simulated edits- I just have to say I love and respect film especially with it being the roots of this artform. I just cannot get over the amount of waste it produces and the harshness of the chemicals to develop it. I have thought about investing in a fujifilm to provide my couples with even more film-simulated edits.
🌏 investing in & upgrading gear as a necessity and never above used gear when the quality is there
🌎 digitizing my guides
🌍 and last but certainly not least- frolicking responsibly. I look into acquiring any necessary permits, follow trails, and follow the pack it in pack it out/leave no trace philosophies.

Posing is specific direction that leads to a specific destination. Candids are all the little moments before, along the journey, and after.
You deserve to have both filling your gallery. I always tell my couples their engagement sessions will feel more "posey" than their wedding days- we're trying different compositions, we're learning each other, I'm observing your connection.
You may think we've reached the end pose and that's the relief, but I am searching for glimmers all along the way.
It is truly when you both enter a flow state, surrendering to the emotions and the experience, that we get genuine candid moments. I know how to get you there 🤍
