Saturday May 9th, I’m hosting a design dedicated co-working session. This 1/2 day of guided co-working encourages you to dedicate time to finally finishing that design you’ve been working on. I will be giving 1-1 feedback and tips over the 4/hour session, helping you improve your designs and get them ready for printing or posting.
We’ll drink coffee and make cool things together. We can test print your designs and have you leaving with that feeling of accomplishment that comes from finishing a project!!

These ‘Canva & Co-Work’ sessions are designed to improve your understanding of the basic principles needed to produce good design.
Hosted by @meganclancycreative , a graphic designer with experience in everything from website design to branding to illustration. Bring your Work-In-Progress and whichever device you used to build it. Stay for a half-day co-working session where we will improve your design, elevate your understanding and take your project from in-progress to print or publish-ready.

“Ask A Designer” - Megan will be on hand to give you 1-1 feedback on your designs, share relevant tips and insider information, and help optimise your design process.
Canva is a widely accessible and easy-to-use tool that enables people to create their own posters, social posts, flyers and reels! While it’s more suitable for the production of digital content, we recognise its importance in enabling non-designers to create their own promotional materials. Through these co-working sessions, we aim to empower and encourage people to feel confident in their designs.
Not Just for Canva users - if you are using the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign) or other design tools like Figma, WIX, Squarespace, we can also help broaden your understanding of how to work with these.

My biggest project to date 😍
Today I welcomed a new maker, who came over to Bantry to rent the studio, to host a new creative workshop. One of eleven workshops/events in the calendar already this year! That’s big! That’s the vision. It’s working!!
Often, there’s not a real moment to reflect. It’s all go! Non stop; looking forward, looking at the (never ending) ‘to do’ studio list. Mind full of potential DIY interior renovations, caught in deep inspiration, yearning to create, full of ideas… and often, torn between succumbing to inspiration, or…managing the studio, tackling the to do.
Yeah, reflecting on achievements-to-date rarely gets the time it deserves. So here’s a moment!
The workbench tops came off, the paper storage wheeled away, the folding table legs came off the wall, and we set crafting places for 10 in the round.
That’s a box on the ‘long term’ list checked off. I opened in a hurry, on a budget, and over excited. I sacrificed the dream of a big shared crafting table to accommodate another opportunity and, finally, today I’ve been able to bring it back, closer to the original idea.

Let’s revamp the event space at @ludgatehub
We had an existing sunset colored mural & geometric wooden wall installations.
We knew the tiered seating was arriving in plain MDF
We had moss wall panels being delivered.
How to tie this all together?
We extended the sunset mural to bleed into the corner where the moss and seating were destined.
We stepped out of our comfort zone and painted a textured, layered mural to compliment the moss tones.
We painted and carpeted the MDF. What you don’t see is the several square meters of stage hidden in the seating!
We cut, sanded and installed wooden slats over the 47meters of blue MDF
We built frames for the moss panels & installed!

Yesterday i printed and made some notebooks with illustrations I’ve made along the ways the illustrations are printed on purple card in black and white and each is hand customized with pen illustration.
They’re on sale in the studio @_corecreative_ and the funds go to support the artist studio 🤘

Maybe for the first time since I opened the studio, this week, I got the chance to use the workshop for an art project. Thanks so much to Madeline and Clare, who upgraded our print project, to a free rein commission for two window installations.
Was a pleasure to have @samyelyel in the studio on this collab, working with gorgeous illustrations and torn cyanotype paper collages. And to have the Julia’s photography as the main inspiration.
I spent a happy Sunday in The Secret Garden at @_corecreative_ painting some fabric and tearing some old photo paper to add to the installation.

Absolutely thrilled to have spent a long weekend painting walls as part of the @ludgatehub laneway art project.
The grocers used to be J. Adams’ . Maybe it called to me because my brother is also J. Adams
I was able to paint some packaging, rather than just designing. It was a real treat to implement the soft vintage paint tones and clean lines I’m drawn to.
What fun to work beside some awesome artists. If you’re in Skibbereen check out the laneway between the bookshop and the pharmacy
