We took a change in brief, for an addition of a fire staircase - as a sculptural, joyful, celebratory and yet a functional move. What a joy to design this one! ☀️

Agrarian communities in Kathiawad, Gujarat - believe that Trajava (tattoos), not prosperity or wealth, are the only substantive things that accompany them into the afterlife. A Mer proverb relates: “We may be deprived of all things of this world, but nobody has the power to remove the tattoo marks.”
Image 2: Both my grandmums were tattooed when they were about seven or eight years old as it was customary for a girl to be tattooed before marriage. Unlike jewellery, which could be stolen or sold in times of hardship, Trajva was considered wealth that could never be taken away, even in death.
Another one with the best in town, Amit @ami_tattoos_inn , this time all hand poked. At home! 🌻

For the first time ever, all paternal cousins got together for a trip to our hometown in Gujarat. Great weather to catch the best sunrise and sunsets and of course sleep on the rooftop! 💛
