I needed to dunk my face into a scottish highlands river (i wasn’t dreaming)
also going to use this post to announce that I am moving to Chicago in a week to start an MFA in film 🤪🎥
It’s been exactly two months since my mom died. It’s been hard to think or write. I miss her so much. She was one of the most important people in the world to me. I feel really defeated, resigned to this version of reality, and still reject it in some sense. I think when I’m told that time heals, it’s hard for me to accept because the more time that passes, the more far away from her I feel. I keep thinking about her in her different eras of this life, even the ones I wasn’t there for, and trying to connect to every single one of them. She was such a fierce, strong, smart, beautiful, loving and cool woman. Thank you thank you to everyone who has brought me comfort and hasn’t shied away from talking to me about death and grief. These things can feel so isolating.
