This is perhaps one of the hardest things I've had to do thus far.
My very first memory was of you and the day you were born.
On December 18th 1991, at 3:02 PM you came into this world, a ball of fire and joy. Dad was so excited he almost left me in the elevator to get to you lol! I walked into that delivery room hand in hand with dad and Aunty as mom introduced us for the first time.
That day changed my life forever in the best way. I was beyond excited to have a little brother. Over the years, we hatched and carried out all sorts of schemes and plans, challenged convention, and had a good time doing it.
Auntie said were like pinky and the brain together. I just knew we were going to take over the world one day.
A child of pure light, you were. Intelligent, joyous and rooted in your emotions and feelings, you shared your heart, your laughter, your thoughts, smiles and tears with those beloved enough to call you friend and family
We grew up almost inseparable. You were my first best friend. We fought each other, fought for each other, and fought together, we got in trouble more times than I can count, and we always bailed each other out. We grew up together, we were each others shadows, and truest reflections. I could not have imagined a life without you in it
To think that today, after 34 years I suddenly can't speak to you, text you or send you 100 memes and TikTok's a day is beyond devastating.
We were all that was left of our immediate family, our household. And now, you too have been asked to join Mom, Dad, Auntie Betty and the rest of the ancestors in a realm just beyond our reach
There are no words that can accurately express the pain and despair of a loss of this magnitude. It's been a little over a month now, since I've been able to speak with you, over a month since you've passed and I'm still unable to accept that you're gone. Truth be told, I don't want to. I would rather honor you by celebrating you and everything that you were and are.

You gave us your heart, shined your light and lent us your unyielding spirit. You shared with us your wisdom and loved each of us generously and equally. While your light shines eternally and your energy surrounds us all, I know that without you here, the world will never be the same… my world will never be the same. The lessons you’ve taught us all, the endless conversations and the time we’ve spent together will live on in my memory of you. I’ll cherish you forever and a day and love you forever more.
To you, my mother, my light, my rock and my first best friend: there won’t be a single day that goes by that I don’t think of you and the ways in which you’ve shaped my world - for this and so much more, I thank you endlessly for everything and bid you adieu - tell everyone I said hi 🙋🏾♂️
