A cult-favorite Chinese restaurant with serious nostalgia is finally making its way to Miami Beach.
After more than four decades as a Los Angeles institution, @genghiscohenla is expanding beyond California for the very first time, landing in Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbour neighborhood in late 2026. Spearheaded by hospitality veterans @misterrose and @medalert of Call Mom, partnering with hotel mogul @jpomeranc , the new outpost will take over the former Sardinia space just in time for the holiday season.
The Miami Beach location promises to recreate the restaurant’s signature New York-style Chinese menu and retro ‘80s vibe, complete with its iconic red booths and crowd-favorite dishes like egg rolls, queen chicken, and crab rangoon, alongside tiki-inspired cocktails.
With deep personal ties to South Florida and years spent searching for the right location, the team is bringing a nostalgic, high-energy dining experience to one of the city’s most walkable waterfront neighborhoods.

Had a great conversation on #BeyondtheDrink with the talented duo from Call Mom (@yourmom ); Med Abrous (@medalert ) & Marc Rose (@misterrose ). As they sat in The Spare Room at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel…I learned even more about what makes these guys tick and the never-ending attention to detail they put into everything they do- including revitalizing some of LA’s most iconic establishments.
Their commitment to giving back to the communities they serve seems endless. From supporting the cocktail community to partnering with organizations like @mountaineersorg , @givingkitchen , @billionoyster , and many others!
Please enjoy this episode as we go Beyond the Drink… with Med Abrous & Marc Rose.
