Somewhere between becoming a mother, holding a household together, and moving through the days and work; I realized I wanted less from images and more from the moments they’re meant to hold.
I’ve been shooting in black and white more.It slowed my seeing and asked more of me. It quieted the excess and shifted my practice toward care—making images I’d want to live alongside, not simply collect.
The further I moved from color, the more vividly I felt it return in my life. Presence came back. The work slowed, and the moments deepened.
Now, when I make a photograph, I think about who I’ll be when I return to it years from now, and whether it will hold enough truth to bring me back—not just to the moment, but to myself.
