I can say without a shadow of a doubt that anything worth doing is worth overdoing. When
@b_ender2 and I started
@themeatmafiapodcast this time last year, we hadn’t built out a plan. No strategy. No major vision. No end goal in mind. At the beginning we set zero expectations, but moved quickly and with force. In the first month we recorded 12 podcasts. The first week of the next month - 11 shows. By our 120th day of podcasting, we had recorded 95 episodes of the podcast (we recorded 35 episodes in June alone 🤯).
When the show started, I had next to no editing experience, Brett still worked a full-time job, and neither of us had any experience with social media other than our 2 months prior on Twitter.
Looking backwards we had clearly gone into a a deep pit of obsession. The conversations we were having were inspiring, thought provoking, and pushing the envelope at the edge of many mainstream “norms”. We had conversations about all-meat diets, creating new (and better) money, pushing back against pharmaceutical companies, and much more. I have to say at the time I was a bit reluctant to share mine and Brett’s contrarian way of thinking, but I am sure glad we did.
We have met some of the most intelligent and vibrant people I have ever met in my life through the podcast, and the exciting part about it all is we are just 1 year into recording the show. We still have a preposterous amount of work to do, but it’s exciting looking back and seeing how much you can get done in a year when you fully commit to something.
I share this not to show you what me and Brett have done, but to show you what you could do as well. If you have an opinion, share it. If you have an idea, build it. The world needs doers, builders, and creators, and you have gifts your family, local community, and the world desperately need.
Thank you to all of the amazing guests, sponsors, and supporters of the show! Much more to come!
I hope you enjoyed this and if you did shoot me a DM! I’d be fired up to hear from you.
