It started with a promise that I made to no other than myself at my bachelor's graduation back in 2016.
“By the time I reach 25yo ,I have to go for my master's degree, no matter what the circumstances I am in”
Berujung dengan kepanikan di ulang tahun ke-25 karena boro-boro mau master degree, waktu itu dunia lagi huru hara Covid-19 dan rasanya zombie apocalypse sudah didepan mata.
However, the alarm starts ringing back then. I can’t snooze it anymore. I began to search for an opportunity, clicking here and there on my laptop, lost as hell while answering a bunch of questions in my head.
“What exactly is important to you?”, “Why now?”, “Why this country?”, “What do you want to gain from this opportunity? “How to get it?”, “What are the other options?” etc., etc.
Long story short, I decided to leave my comfortable, rewarding, hard-to-get job as one of the staff for minister in Indonesia in the middle of a crazy pandemic full of uncertainty for a six-month Language Course at SNU (not even a Master's Degree). Sounds crazy, right? But not for me. As I know, that was just a step, a critical step to fulfill a promise to myself.
Two years later, here I am. Finishing my MBA at the world’s 29th best university. Definitely not an easy ride, but it was worth it.
