With over 6 years in the industry, & having started with private property weddings... we've seen it all! Unfortunately, sometimes, the catering vendor does not proactively give you the heads up of the details that are super important to plan around for your wedding - some of which I myself have been lefted stunned on the day. ❕️So here are my go-to questions that i always ask now, even if it makes me seem "new to the game" because... never did I think I'd have to 😅 1. Will tableware rentals be included with their service & can their staff set all tables? (Linens, plates, napkins, utensils, glassware etc) 2. Will catering staff pour waters prior to dinner & keep topping off waters throughout dinner service? (This might require renting water jugs to make this possible) 3. Will catering staff clear all tables at the end of dinner, including rentals, garbage & empties from the bar? (If the bar is being run by another company, then figuring out who's responsible for those empties is important) 4. What are some duties that catering staff WILL NOT help with that require additional logistical planning? ( This one will give you all the gaps that will need to be covered, so it helps you plan accordingly ✨️The more you know, the better you can plan ahead ✨️ ... but really... read the reviews, ask previous clients & make sure your not just going for the budget friendly option... because I will tell you. A crock pot filled with pulled pork as your late-night station is definitely not a nice surprise to find when you're wondering where your caterer went at 11pm 😅

True story... our poor couple had their room canceled on them, but how'd that happen?? All their decor items had been packed up, being delivered to their hotel suite for the night. We had set this up to ensure they could simply walk out of the reception hall with as little as possible. But that didn't happen.... 😓 It's seems that when the bride had called to "release" the nonbooked blocked rooms, the front desk canceled their room, too! 🤦🏽‍♀️ An honest mistake - that impacted our end of night in a big way How do you avoid this happening to your wedding night? - review all your booking reservations for your guests and yourself as soon as you have all your RSVPs back - ensure you'll be getting booking confirmations leading up to your wedding day - plan to store your decor within a vehicle, taken in another car, or stored at venue overnight... find a way to make the teardown as easy as possible And for a quick & smooth check-in... - take screenshots of your last booking reservation email & have your ID handy ✨️when possible, try to check in earlier in the day!✨️
