New Found Sound 2026 is officially wrapped, and we're still buzzing from Saturday. More than 8,600+ of you filled venues across Port Adelaide, turning the precinct into one giant celebration of music. To everyone who came, danced, discovered new music, and made this festival what it is - thank you. To the 40 acts who filled the venues with music - thank you. New Found Sound has dropped its 2026 lineup 🎵 Port Adelaide is set for a night of original live music, with 36 South Australian artists joined by invited interstate guests performing across 10 unique venues and spaces in the historic precinct. The MDO office remains open to serve the South Australian music community during this time. However, we'll only be sharing essential updates as required. Early Bird Tickets and First International Speakers Revealed for Indie-Con Australia & @a2im ’s Indie Week Australian Edition 2026 The countdown to one of Australia’s biggest independent music industry gatherings has officially begun. The Australian Independent Record Labels Association (AIR) today announces Early Bird tickets and the first wave of international speakers for its Indie-Con Australia Conference and A2IM’s Indie Week Australian Edition, taking place 29–31 July 2026 at Mercury Cinema and Nexus Arts in Adelaide. Celebrating the milestone of its 10th event, Indie-Con returns to Australia’s first and only UNESCO designatedCity of Music, supported by the South Australian Government. Over three days, Adelaide will become a global meeting point for independent labels, artists, managers, distributors, tech leaders and music advocates from across the world. The first international speaker announcement for 2026 showcases the global depth, innovation, and diversity of the independent music sector, with many more speakers to be revealed in the coming months. 🌟SENSATIONAL @samusicawards last night! 🌟 👏👏Congrats all around to our homegrown talent, you are the reason we're celebrating 10 years of our UNESCO @adlcityofmusic designation. 🎶 🏆Highlights include : ‼ top winners @dem_mob and @aleksiah_ who graced the stage repeatedly to pick up a handful of awards each, 🎵special mention to Rob Edwards @redwards7 , winner of the Adelaide UNESCO City of Music 10th Anniversary Award which will help him undertake a residency in Mexico, ☀Nat Edwards who won the new award category for Community Achiever for her work with youth in music, and 💕the gracious Rosanna Clark presenting the Neville Clark Award to up and coming sound engineers Lisa burns & Michael Esterhuizen in honour of one of SA's all time greatest mastering experts. 😎Plus a cheeky shoutout to the many current and former Robert Stigwood Fellows in the mix! 📣 Calling all musicians, music businesses and music workers! In June 2025, Music Australia revealed the music industry generated $8.78 billion in revenue through its landmark report, The Bass Line. Now it’s time to build on that story. Submissions to The Bass Line – Edition 2 are now open. The survey collects data for FY2024-25 and is open to anyone working across the music sector. 📝 The survey is short, anonymous and takes just 5-10 minutes to complete. This research will be an ongoing annual series and will inform future policy, investment and support for the music industry. Make your contribution count. Complete the survey by Sunday 2 November.
