Viridianos presenta “Deep Surf” Desde París, el guitarrista chileno Memo Dumay —conocido por su paso en Panico— inicia una nueva etapa junto a Esteban Anavitarte con @viridianos_band , un proyecto que cruza experiencia, identidad y exploración sonora. Su debut Deep Surf propone un viaje entre cuerdas, programaciones y un groove eléctrico hipnótico, con pasajes instrumentales extensos y guiños al art-punk. Todo envuelto en una atmósfera melancólica, con letras oscuras y surrealistas que dejan ver su raíz sudamericana. El disco incluye referencias como voces sampleadas de Lou Reed y textos de Pedro Lemebel, reforzando una propuesta que mezcla lo experimental con lo emocional. PSA Public Lecture x Theatrum Mundi (@cityastheatre ) "The Background Buzz and Electrical Poetics" Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at 6 pm 52 rue Bichat 75010 Paris Free and open to the public, followed by drinks Ruth Oldham (@_rutholdham_ ) trained as an architect in Glasgow, Paris and at the Bartlett. After several years practicing architecture in Paris, she now teaches architectural history, translates architecture and art related texts from French to English, and carries out independent research and writing projects. Juan Guillermo Dumay (@mdemaudit ) is an artist, sound engineer and musician. He creates site-specific works using different materials, such as multi-channel pieces and kaleidoscopic improvisations combining electronic music, amplified sounds and raw noise. He holds an MA in Musique Acousmatique et Arts Sonores from Gustave Eiffel University (Paris-Est-Marne-La Vallée). Together, they will present a project that englobes two strands of urban exploration centred upon electrical substations - discreet but numerous pieces of infrastructure embedded within the urban landscape. One strand involves the continuum sounds and noises emanating from the infrastructure, the other the surprising poetry involved in its system of naming and identification. It is a project about immersion in our everyday environment. It is about tuning into the specific qualities of individual sites: acoustic reflections that result from the form of the street, or the history of the site, hinted at in the name of the substation. It proposes a sonic methodology for revealing the wider infrastructural network that threads its way through our societies and lives, via these substations that are tiny parts of a vast system. The talk forms part of a series in collaboration with Theatrum Mundi, drawing on its archive of publications and projects to explore bioclimatic urbanism through creative research. I am glad to share w/you all, this sound work freshly released just a week ago, through the label Weisskalt . I’ve made this remix for Camilo Palma and his berlin based project AP DUCAL, featured in his last album U Remixes. The remix was inspired in the continuum flow of energy existing in the original song (called UU), which is an hypnotic and minimal electronic uptempo song. The rest is just FUN : I’ve played electric guitar, 10 minutes with no pause. One take. For presenting the sound, I did a mix of images between the main instrument played in the remix: a drum machine the ROLAND TR707, in action in my studio in Paris , also the cover of the album U Remixes. Plus a random series of pics from the exhibition in Pompidou Center w/work of Wolfgang Tillmans last September, days before the Museum closes for many years. actually this happened when I was finishing the remix for Camilo (I found many reference about Chile in Tillmans s work) This idea made a psychogeographic loop between Berlin ~ Paris ~ Santiago// Gracias Camilo por la invitación a trabajar en este hermoso álbum. enjoy it ! Radio rural (it’s over now), our new song is on the waves ~~~~ Part of our upcoming album Deep Surf , expected for the end of march (preorder LP & CD links in bio) “Radio Rural is one of the last tracks composed for this album. A hybrid and experimental production where the downtempo of minimal cumbia allows the harmonic and rhythmic texture to evolve with hints of DUB, field recordings, repetitive phrases and noises. The recordings made in the city of Paris, by Japanese artist Aki Onda -in the middle of 90s in his tape recorder- were injected as sound material and became, 30 years later a haunted pulsation which drive the song along with an vintage drum machine Dr Böhm.. The voice of featured vocalist Georgina Treloar (from the band El gran chufle) who intones the phrase “it’s over now” expresses the corollary of a disappearing era. The end of radio, survivor of video clip? Or the beginning of something else. Alguna vez toqué en Chiloé, fue la noche del sabado 6 de febrero del 2016, en la ciudad de Castro. Invitado por Harmoni Molina. El tema aquel, con el sonido de los pajaritos se trata de "Pajarístico", que en una version posterior incluyó la voz del poeta Juan Luis Martinez. Incluido en el EP del 2021 "Poste Tranformateur", disponible en el bandcamp de su servidor. Me encanta el sur.
