#JLJLegacy π Let's talk about the Reverend Jesse L. Jackson legacy program booklet. It has become one of the most beautiful and sought after obituaries folks are talking about. First of all, I want to give a huge shout out to
@wagnerlaneproductions for leading the branding and creative assets from the social media elements, prayer cards, badge credentials, step and repeats, and remixing the iconic photo (courtesy of the African American History Smithsonian Museum).
@apsandassociates starting working on the concept for the program booklet five months with Wagner Lane. It was important to begin hammering out some ideas on the branding direction.
@nicolemariechicago who did a wonderful job presenting the look and feel of the programs. The heavy lifting of laying out several designs was created by graphic designer
@bridgetgoldsmith . ππΎ She is the designer behind the legacy book and design items. Like most creatives, your work is how you eat and creating amazing work is how you build. Thank you for your patience throughout this entire process. πππ½
It started with 10-pages and it grew as we knew this would NEVER be enough to capture Reverend's lifetime of honoring his work, family and contributions. What resulted was a 28-page collectible keepsake that chronicles him while highlighting the beautiful photos πΈ by several photographers and PUSH staffers throughout Reverend Jackson's travels. I worked with several contributing writers to make sure this program supported the authenticity of Reverend's life through his ministry, Black liberation era, policy and civil rights work and humanitarian travels.
With final editing provided by his daughter, Santita Jackson and the guidance and feedback by the Jackson family--Mrs. Jacqueline Jackson had the final approval. It was important to her that Reverend Jackson was represented with truth, grace and respect. πͺπΎπ€πβ€οΈ
