In Hiroshima: vigil for Palestine, my painted flag is up in a Palestine art event, I talked with Hiroshimajin about my experiences, and walk away feeling so full in my heart. Thank you all again for making me feel welcome.
Just imagine, please, that you hear some variations of these comments EVERY TIME you mention your race. You just want to go about your day and even a casual mention of who you are causes people to have verbal aneurysms. And you keep telling yourself existence is resistance, but do you want to hear the mouth diarrhea at this exact moment? How upset are you gonna get? Is it gonna ruin your mojo or what?
It's the sort of thing that I don't think most non-Palestinians believed happened. It's alllllll coming out now. It is so exhausting and stupid and I hate every time it happens.

I went to speak to some students at Ritsumeikan's Peace Museum about Palestine. They have Osamu Tezuka's phoenix on the wall. It's perfect to me.
There are a lot of angry, awful people in the world, but so many others also give me hope.
立命館の平和ミュージアムで、学生たちにパレスチナについて話してきました。壁には手塚治虫の火の鳥があって、私にとって本当に完璧でした。
世界には怒りっぽくてひどい人もたくさんいますが、その一方で希望をくれる人たちも本当にたくさんいます。
My new work is installed at Housenin in Ohara! It will be up until May 3. There are also coordinated art installations at Jakkoin, the Ohara cultural center, and Doi Shibazuke. It's also extremely beautiful in that area, so I think it's worth a visit!
