Last month, the third Maryland Climate Teach-In Summit was fortunate enough to host this year’s event at @official_baltimorepoly . The students held workshops all morning for visitors to learn about many things including their hydroponics lab, the weather station and their gardening projects. In the afternoon they went over to Hillside Park for a tree planting, bird watching and for some career advise from professionals in the environmental field. Thanks @baltcityschools and students for the hospitality!

ATTENTION: Most of Maryland continues to experience either Moderate or Severe Drought conditions.
ℹ️ What you can do:
While there are no water restrictions currently in place, consider reducing your use of potable water by:
🚿 Take showers instead of baths.
🚰 Avoid letting water run while you are brushing your teeth, washing your face or shaving
💦 Only operate dishwashers and washing machines when they are full
🌱 Avoid wasting water while waiting for it to get hot. Capture the cool water for other uses like watering plants.
💧 Avoid leaving sprinklers or hoses unattended. A garden hose can pour out 600 gallons or more in only a few hours.
🆘 If you need assistance:
Farmers in the below listed counties are eligible for assistance through a drought disaster declaration from the USDA. Farmers in the primary designated counties
Designated Counties: Allegany, Carroll, Charles, Frederick, Garrett, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s and Washington

Repurpose Aggregates is leading the way in Maryland by turning construction, demolition, and excavation waste into high-quality, reusable materials. By shifting away from the bury and forget mentality, they are proving that a Circular Economy is the future of our industry.
Here’s why this matters for Maryland:
🌍 Environmental Protection: By reusing concrete, brick, and dirt, we reduce landfill reliance and protect our natural landscapes from degradation.
📉 Sustainability in Action: Using repurposed materials instead of virgin aggregates slashes CO2 emissions and preserves our planet for the next generation.
💼 Economic Growth: Innovation creates opportunity! This state-of-the-art facility supports local development projects while fueling green-sector jobs and a robust economy. 🏗️ Innovative Technology: Through best-practice systems, we are transforming “discarded” waste into essential building blocks for our cities, bridges, and homes.
At MDE, we believe in doing well by doing good. We’re proud to see companies like this investing in solutions that prove waste is a resource, not a problem.
Let’s keep building a greener, more resilient Maryland!
