It was another historic event for MCTC, as teams competed for a second regional championship in the same season, a first for the league. “I was really impressed not just by the turnout of schools, but also the marked progress that all of the teams have made since the last event in the fall.” said Coach David Lee, President of MCTC. “It really speaks to the energy of the athletes and coaches in this region. Everyone here is dedicated to growing the size and quality of collegiate Taekwondo. There’s never been a better time to be involved!”

On #internationalwomenday we would like to thank our amazing Coach Stephanie. Thank you for building a program that these women have flourished under. Taekwondo is a beautiful art and the #universityofarkansas is privileged to learn from your experience. We appreciate all that you do to continue this sport.
This past Saturday, we reached a monumental milestone in our club’s history: hosting our first-ever tournament. Our members dedicated months of effort to plan and execute the Spring MCTC, and we couldn’t be prouder!!!
We’ll get sentimental in a minute, but first, a BIG shoutout to our athletes:
Poomsae B1 – 2nd Place (Jocelyn, Morgan K, and Grace) Sparring Men’s A1 – 3rd Place (Isaac, Joon, Rahul, and Dany) Sparring Men’s C1 – 1st Place (Noah, Emmanuel, and Leo L) Sparring Men’s C2 – 3rd Place (Nick, Chase, and Ik) Sparring Women’s C1 – 1st Place (Sophie, Skye, and Morgan S) Sparring Men’s C3 – Exhibition Match Victory (Arouna)
And shoutout as well to our Poomsae A1 (Shailesh, Joon, Leo K), Poomsae A2 (Karen and Ethan), and Poomsae C1 (Sophie, Chase, and Skye) for their valiant efforts.
None of this would have been possible without our incredible sparring and poomsae coaches: Treyver, Joon, Ronik, and Shailesh.
We also want to recognize our tournament planners—Victoria, Ronik, and Leo K—who worked tirelessly coordinating between schools and bringing this event together. The tournament welcomed over 180 athletes from 15 schools and more than 150 spectators, which made the day even more special.
Lastly, a huge thank you to all the volunteers who dedicated their time to help run the event. This tournament simply wouldn’t have been possible without your support!
Thank you to our athletes for giving it their all, to our volunteers for dedicating an entire day to ensuring the tournament ran smoothly, to our planners for months of preparation, to MCTC for giving us the opportunity to host, and to all the schools and spectators who showed up and brought great energy!!
We’ll carry this experience with us as we continue to grow as a club. PIL SUNG🥋💫
We couldn’t not post our biggest aura farmers on the team…. Sparring a1 is just like that 🤷🤷🤷
