Yesterday, Australia lost a true National Treasure, Eileen Kramer died at the age of 110 - World renowned Dancer, Choreographer and Artist - a force of nature, she learnt to do the twist with Louis Armstrong himself, was an artist’s model for legendary Norman Lindsey. In over 25 years of Casting, auditioning Eileen at the age of 104 is hands down one of the favourite auditions I’ve ever taken - you instantly knew you were in the presence of a true creative powerhouse. After the audition (BTW she got the role of course) we filmed a chat about her life and her art - this video is part of that discussion - if you are a performer or artist, especially a dancer, it’s impossible not to be inspired by Eileen. The morning I spent with her is one of the most memorable in my career - thank you Eileen.
