“Most difficult challenge I faced would be when I was in the University (OAU) and my Mum warned me to desist from everything entertainment. At the time, I was a budding stage actor and had just started getting known for hosting school events. It was either I stop in its entirety or she disowns me. She had her reasons; Her elder brother was a popular actor then, and he was a philanderer. She thought anyone who’s into entertainment was cut out of the same fabric. I started praying that God changes her mind, as I believed I was made for this and the purpose was beyond me. I tried talking her through it, but it all fell on deaf ears. I kept hosting shows on OAU campus, kept all the posters of each big shows I hosted and would travel home, just to leave it where she would see it. I wanted her to see that her son is becoming a campus star. Few months down the line, I got featured in the national newspaper and people in the neighbourhood were calling her Mama celebrity. I believed that results would do the convincing which it did. I’m super happy I didn’t stop and overcame that challenge as I pioneered the revolution of OAU campus social life then, mentored and platformed many dreams, many of whom are now household names. Every time I see many of the break out stars from OAU whom I was part of their success story, I ask myself; What if I had stopped?! This is my story, I am MC Simbal… Mr. Vibes!” -Mc Simbal
