Starting the new year a little slower than planned. I caught a bit of a bug over the holidays, so I’ve been taking it easy and staying hydrated. The break was so nice, but now I’m easing back in by looking over some newer and older pieces for some inspiration. Wishing you a Happy New Year! 🥳
this started out as a little test piece, learning to sculpt and slowly figuring things out
i also realized very quickly that painting on a non-flat surface is… not easy 😅
so many lines were painted over again and again
thank you @artifyartsupplies for being so kind and sending over some brushes to try
i ended up using them for this piece and loved them
process video coming soon 💙
Exciting news for Giant Robot! They’re opening a new space, a dedicated home for the Giant Robot Store Gallery ✨
To celebrate, I thought what better way than to debut my new sculptural pieces that I’ve been working on for the grand opening.
Opening + pieces available April 11, Saturday 🥰🎉
Congratulations @giantrobotstore@giantrobot 👏👏👏
One of my first attempts with sculpting. As I was building up this little pot, it started to sag. Usually, as a perfectionist, I probably would've restarted. But I had already spent a decent amount of time on it and decided to ~ let go ~ and let the material tell me what it wants to become. Kinda silly, but it was such a nice feeling. It's something I've been working on, letting go of perfectionism, to paint/create freely.
When it came to painting it, I decided to go with a derpy dragon for my derpy deflated little pot :)
Also, thanks to the friends I was on a crafting date with at the time while making this, and supporting me through the entire process ❤️
I’ve been slowly getting into sculpting lately, honestly quite bad at it. But I’ve been craving to craft, to make something with my hands, and it’s been so fun.
