Marko Ciciliani is a composer, intermedia artist and performer. The focus of his artistic work lies in the composition of performative electronic music, mostly in audiovisual contexts. Interactive video, light design and laser graphics often play an integral part in his compositions, just as well as elements of ergodic or transmedia storytelling and speculative fabulation. The German magazine Neue Zeitschrift für Musik referred to him as “one of today’s most interesting composers in the field of electronic music and multimedia”. His work has been performed in over 45 countries, featured at premier festivals like Ars Electronica and Donaueschinger Musiktage. A pioneer in audiovisual research, he developed the influential “Music in the Expanded Field” theory. Currently a Professor at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, he led the GAPPP project exploring game elements in composition and has frequently served as a composition tutor at the prestigious Darmstadt Summer Courses.   That evening at Twenty Alpha, Marko Ciciliani will perform two works Archipel Arpeggio and Zero to Circle(concert version), alternating with gesture-based performance by Barbara Lüneburg. █ Marko Ciciliani @mciciliani Barbara Lüneburg Ruhail Qaisar @iakksakkath nnscya @nnscya Poster by @nnscya █ 2026•4•3 FRI | 20:00 | $160 (18歲以下50%) 20α | 13/F, Foo Tak Building 367 Hennessy Road, Wanchai 灣仔軒尼詩道367號富德樓13樓 █ Studio Sponsor:艺鵠ACO @artandcultureoutreach

We're spending my birthday in Vela Luka on the island of Korčula in Croatia, where in 1968 the International meeting of Artists took place, where more than 30 artists participated, who left behind around 70 artworks that were all donated to the village. Luc Ferrari was one of them and this is also the place where he recorded the material, that a few years later became "Presque rien no1 (le lever du jour au bord de la mer)". A large beautiful board made of mozaik stones commemorates the remarkable event.

Since Saturday my audiovisual installation "Zaštićeni prostor - zagušeni prostor" is on display at Hrvatski dom in Split. It deals with the lighttowers in the main harbor of Split and uses lighting, multichannel sound and videos on multiple tablets. It is part of the exhibition of the wonderful project Skriveni grad, organized by Kino klub Split that I had the honor to participate in. If you happen to be in Split, check out the exhibition. It's on until December 23, every day from 5pm to 8pm.

I'm very excited to announce the release of my project "Why Frets? 2083", which is published today by "Mille Plateaux" and "Galerie der Abseitigen Künste". The release consists of an art-book (designed by Martin Stiehl) with an integrated USB-Stick which contains videos of the three parts of "Why Frets?" - a live-electronic multimedia concert, an installation and a performance-lecture. The release event is today at the "Mille Plateaux Ultrablack Non-ference" in Forum Stadtpark in Graz. Two parts of the project will be presented: the installation "Why Frets? - Tombstone" is running in the main gallery space and at 6pm I will present the performance-lecture "Why Frets? - Requiem for the Electric Guitar". The third part "Why Frets? - Downtown 1983" I will perform on November 2nd at Dom im Berg/Graz.
