Today this grand dame has reached an auspicious age, a phenomenal human in every way! I cannot imagine a better mother and partner in crime! Happiest of birthdays to you, my most beloved!!
Made it back home this afternoon after waking up in a former house that is 300 years old. The day was another beauty and we found our stride. Still, the elevation climb up to our place was the biggest challenge of the journey. Needless to say, it was good to make it up the mountain and relax! Grateful to be able to adventure with @stifland1 . With him wonders never cease!
Just a glimpse of our adventure today. We walked out our door this morning and caught the Camino Portugues. Arrived in Tui, Espana six hours later. Our first taste of the life of peregrinos.

Nature is absolutely stunning in both complexity and beauty. Not to mention it is efficient and generous. I am reminded of the great fortune of being alive in this web of connection every day - especially when I go looking for evidence and even when I am doubting this fact. Sometimes I forget this truth and am always so grateful to be reminded.

And just like that, we are back home and enjoying the fruits of summer. Thanks to @amandabreitbach & family for the thornless blackberry we have been cultivating for two years. When we relocated it last fall, it really took off! And goodness, the hydrangea is very happy, happy, happy! Thinking of the first fresh raspberry I enjoyed from Fernando’s garden in Ponte de Lima! Isn’t the real beauty of traveling the opportunity to meet kind humans from all over?
